What's in Your Wallet?

PROVERBS 19:1-8 New King James Version

1 Better is the poor who walks in his integrity. Than one who is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.

2 Also it is not good for a soul to be without knowledge, And he sins who hastens with his feet.

3 The foolishness of a man twists his way, And his heart frets against the Lord.

4 Wealth makes many friends, But the poor is separated from his friend.

5 A false witness will not go unpunished, And he who speaks lies will not escape.

6 Many entreat the favor of the nobility, And every man is a friend to one who gives gifts.

7 All the brothers of the poor hate him; How much more do his friends go far from him! He may pursue them with words, yet they abandon him.

8 He who gets wisdom loves his own soul; He who keeps understanding will find good.

Sermon Notes: What's in Your Wallet?

Is there more out there that we don’t yet have? Do we have what it takes to be successful?

What's in Your Spiritual Wallet?

In Proverbs 19 that we have before us.

In our spiritual wallet, the qualities we carry with us wherever we go.

We see that we can only carry so much in our wallet; and we as believers have to be selective; we must have what we need most while away from home.

So, what are some of the things we should have in our wallets?

1 Integrity: Integrity is More VALUABLE than Riches. Integrity implies adherence to a moral code, and honesty. People with integrity stay the course, and keep their word.

2 knowledge: The word knowledge in this text has the meaning of a deeper more perfect and enlarged knowledge of what God is and what this Christian walk is about.

3 Passion:  When we are zealous, we put our heart, our soul, our life into something.  Knowledge tells us what to do, passion energizes us to do it!

Lastly, 4 Steadfast Love. Which mean A firm loyalty and unswerving dedication.

The LORD satisfies us with all the good things of this life, and the blessing of spiritual food out of the Word of God.      It is only our response to the blessing in which we have received our all from Him.

So again, I say: What’s In Your Wallet?
